The school was officially registered with the Charity Commission under the name of "Bombolulu School of Promise" as a charity who aims to advance development by the provision of education for the street children in the slums of Mombasa and to relieve poverty by the provision of financial assistance to the teachers and children.
Jacqueline returned to Mombasa to visit the school a couple of times during the year, taking along clothes for the children and books for the school. Jacqui also took along volunteers to help spread the word about the charity and to introduce new educational ideas into the school. Every visit was an opportunity to provide support to the teachers and basic supplies to the school.
Whilst in Mombasa, Jacqui spent a lot of time looking for a permanent building for the charity.
Two more teachers were employed during the year as the number of pupils had dramatically increased.
