BOMBOLULU SCHOOL OF PROMISE CHILDREN CHARITY

Volunteering

Going out to the school is an amazing experience and really is an opportunity to see the charity and what it is all about. You can achieve so much and the children and teachers are always so happy to see you. Just turning up and seeing all the smiles is enough to make you visit alone.

Why do we need volunteers?

Visits to the school gives you the opportunity to see the charity for real and to appreciate the good that the school is providing and to help improve on that in any way that you see fit.

Visits to the school enable us to deliver equipment to the school such as new crayons, clothes, toys, skipping ropes, books and more from the donations given to us in the UK.

Visits to the school gives us time to see how the teaching is developing and to spend time with the teachers to encourage and develope them. They often spend so much time teaching that they never take a step back to see what more they can do or to change the timetable etc.

Visits to the school enable us to teach classes and give the teachers the opportunity to see different teaching methods. It also gives the children a change to learn things in a different or more creative way.

Visits to the school enable time to do DIY and rennovation work that the teachers can not do. Or often they do not see the need due to being used to less than adequate facilities.

Visits to the school give the children the opportunity to meet people from other countries and to learn new games, songs and ways of life.

How do I go about volunteering?

Please contact us through the "Contact Us" part of the web site and we will get back to you to discuss your plans in more detail.

As you wil have seen no expenses are paid to any of the Trustees. This also applies to volunteers so you would have to be responsible for all your travel and accommodation costs if you wanted to visit the school.

When is a good time to visit?

Term times are very similar to the UK. The school shuts for the whole of December for Christmas holidays to enable everyone to go back to their villages. Summer holiday is the whole of August.
