BOMBOLULU SCHOOL OF PROMISE CHILDREN CHARITY

Trustees

Jacqueline Furlepa :- Founder

Jacqui Furlepa

Jacqueline's career has revolved around music, working as a teacher, performer and demonstrator. Following post graduate training she is now employed as a music therapist and works with adults within the field of neurodisability. Prior to this she was the first female member of the Band of the Grenadier Guards based at Wellington Barracks in London, during this time she travelled extensively and continued travelling on her own once leaving the army, it was one of these trips that took her to Kenya for several months where she first became involved in teaching the children from Bombolulu.

Paul Furlepa :- Chairman

 Paul Furlepa

Paul trained as an Accountant and after a career in the Airline and UK Holiday industry, is currently working as a consultant for a UK leisure brand. Prior to these roles he took the opportunity of an extended career break travelling extensively around the world for almost three years. This provided the opportunity to better understand the inequalities and needs of people throughout the developing nations. A firm believer that education is the only way of making a genuine difference in the long term Paul was delighted to be able to work with the other Trustees in providing a desperately needed resource for the children in Mombasa.

Helen Moore :- Treasurer

Helen Moore

Helen was born in the UK in 1973, she was brought up as a child in Wiltshire then moved to Brighton with her family at the age of 11. Helen qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant and progressed to being a Finance Director of a large Tour Operator. Helen's love of travel took her on holiday to Kenya where it was clear that there was a distinct double standard between the rich tourist and the humble local. After Jacqui's visit to Kenya and her enthusiasm to set up this charity it seemed an excellent opportunity to get involved and use my skills to help the children succeed through education as I did.

Geoff Webb :- Trustee

Geoff

Geoff is a physicist who specialised throughout his career in safety standards to protect people against radiation. This covered everything from operating nuclear power stations safely to the correct use of x-ray sets in hospitals. He has always travelled widely and in the 1990s was with the United Nations trying to improve safety in developing Countries, especially in Africa, South and Central America, Asia and Eastern Europe following the break-up of the former Soviet Union. During this period he experienced conditions at first hand in some of the poorer Countries of the world, and so was very willing to become involved with Bombolulu.

Hugh Bond :- Trustee

Hugh

Hugh was born in 1945, married to Mary with two grown up children - they are both married and we have two lovely grandaughters. Lives in Sussex, England on the coast. Worked as an optical engineer all his life (making spectacles), now retired. Has travelled around the world a lot and seen the poverty of the 3rd world. Realised this could be solved with money and education. It may be too late for the current adult generation of places like Kenya, but if we educate the children they will have a chance.

Pamela Furlepa :- Trustee

PamelaNow retired, Pamela spent 30 years working at a Primary school in Horsham. Married to Roman, she has 5 children and 8 grand children, a full time occupation in its own right. Having visited the school in Mombasa early on she was keen to assist in the fund raising and promotion of the school. Her extensive experience within the education system means she is able to offer huge amounts of expertise to the charity.

Honoury Trustees include our family who are very supportive in all we do. We would particulary like to thank Jason Moore for all his continued voluntary work on the website.
