BOMBOLULU SCHOOL OF PROMISE CHILDREN CHARITY

Charity History

Bombolulu School of Promise was started in 2004 after Jacqueline Furlepa visited Kenya on charity work. She saw the need of the children living in the slums and wanted to make a difference to help them create a better future for themselves.

2004 - The charity is formed and the education of the children begins.

2005 - Official charity registration, numerous visits to the school to find a permanent building and employment of more teachers.

2006 - Found and moved into permanent building, more volunteers visit the school, running water organised and formal government registration of school.

2007 - Recruited two new teachers, gained official registration and standards of education continued to improve. Commencement of food programme.

2008 - Numerous visits, increased pupils and first government assessment told us our exam results were "above average".

2009 - Improved food programme to lunch and continued with the high level of teaching.

2010 - Our main sponsors visted the school - Top marks for one of our students in their exams.

2011 - Seven pupils pass there exams and leave us to move on to seconadry school
